The AP reports on a crime in California: "A husband and wife were charged Thursday with kidnapping and torturing a 17-year-old boy authorities say was sometimes kept shackled inside their home."Obviously, this boy was not tortured; he was, by the standards of contemporary discourse, subjected to enhanced kidnapping techniques.
"Torture" is something performed by swarthy people in Southwestern Asia, people -- let's try to keep it straight.

They were performing enhanced child rearing techniques. The shackles are just used for a really effective "time out". And the aunt merely performed an extraordinary rendition.
Hmmm ... good point! Just what sort of information important to National Security do you think they were trying to extract from this 17 year-old kid?
The ends justify the means... and the labeling of those means.
