Prop 8 is fucking magnificent in its pre-election effects -- it's smoking out some folks who we usually only see on the way to the cigarette store, bathrobe smelling like urine, muttering darkly about the Mexicans on the sidewalk. Read. Enjoy.

I can't stand it when people make completely unsubstantiated empirical claims like this!
People have actually studied this, and anyone NOT working for a place like the Institute for American Values has found that there are no significant differences between kids who grow up in either single-parent or same-sex-parent households versus "traditional" households. End of story.
So to make that claim that it's somehow detrimental to society to allow teh gays to marry is to completely ignore actual, you know, reality, and to use made-up bullshit to try to justify bigotry and hatred.
