He has an update now. "Just for the record, the above post does not, in fact, constitute an endorsement of Waugh's applause for Italy. I just thought the quote was interesting."
That reminds me of another quote. "Johah Goldberg should be gerbled by rabid weasels on meth." I'm not endorsing that quote, I just thought it was interesting.
Boy, wouldn't you love to see Goldberg try to parse what was and wasn't "worth noting" in Waugh's whole article, and then see if he's got anything left?
The update is the awesomest -- the post begins with a rave about a "great quote," and ends with a disclaimer that hey, I don't think this quote was great, but I just, uh, posted it.
