fantasy islandApologies for a long silence, as Team Cherkis-Bray rocked Sequoia National Park during the July 4 week. There were bears. And trees.
But the world went on:
The U.S. military remained "the last Soviet industry," unsurprisingly employing dimwitted Soviet misinformation techniques, while the administration that runs it continued to shelter a group of people who hold out for a Soviet policy vision.
I continue to shrug my shoulders. It seems to me that we're about two years past the point of sustainability, and well into the zone where the building collapses on its occupants. And yet here we all are, wondering if former White House officials will comply with congressional subpoenas. As if there's a careful, reasoned policy debate still underway. I've read Ionesco -- this is what it felt like.
But at least we have comic relief.
