The pseudonymous blogger Patterico -- a prosecutor in real life -- is a passionate Bush defender and an aggressive conservative. So guess what he has to say about the Libby commutation.

And then, as always, the comments are so very telling. My favorite, despite some stiff competition: "The system is flawed when it can convict a person for lying about a non-crime or whatever it was that he was being questioned about. That’s getting close to having laws against being black or Jewish or laws against speeding with the punishment being a death sentence, etc."

Keep flying that freak flag, dead enders. These are ugly times, and the rest of us need the laughs.

Once more, with feeling: if there wasn't a crime, why did he lie?

It's an easy target, but Kaufman's Republicans Against Perjury roundup is pretty entertaining reading.
