Confederates in the Spell-Checker

I'm quite intrigued by the fact that the Microsoft Word spellchecker fails to recognize "Antietam" but has no difficulty with "Sharpsburg."

I think it's just that Sharpsburg is the name of a present day town so Word recognizes it, just like other towns and cities.

Well, it doesn't recognize Chancellorsville either . . . Now, since Antietam is one of the most important events in American history (More Americans died on the day of Antietam than any other single day in American history), I'd think maybe it would make it into Microsoft radar. I mean, the folks there found time to include Frodo in their spell-checker.
