dirty hot child sex...

...must be the news.

So I'm on the elliptical trainer, tonight, and I look up at the long bank of televisions that run down the center of the gym, and I see the closed captioning on one of the screens. It says something like: "Sergeant Traber was amazed -- the semen was a perfect match." I watch for a few moments more, and I realize pretty quickly that it's a news magazine story about a man who raped women and then beat them to death.

And so I look at the next television down the line, and it's set to ABC -- where, on 20/20, the topic of investigation is a man who raped little girls. Lots and lots of little girls. Some of them are interviewed on camera: And what did he do to you next? And then a reporter is standing in the aisle of a store talking to a cop, and the closed captioning is helping me to learn that this was the very spot where the man rubbed his penis in front of a little girl. How glad I was to have obtained that information.

Mass rape makes for some terrific t.v., hey. Great stuff for killing some time while you're knocking out your cardio.

Is it me? Isn't this the tiniest bit strange and horrible?
