China!
So I found out I was accepted for a math summer school in China. The program pays for room, board, the program itself, and they are going to reimburse me for some of the airfare. It's a one month program. I have to decide by next FRIDAY and I'm pretty terrified. I am not sure anymore if this is how I want to spend my summer from an academic viewpoint, but I don't know how I can turn it down from a life-experience viewpoint. What's also sad is that I gave myself a 1% chance of getting accepted, because I am a "historian" applying for a math summer program. But now instead of being excited about this -- overcoming the odds -- I have to be concerned with making a rush decision. AAAAAAAAAAAH. Well maybe I will celebrate by buying an apple or raspberry or cherry pie. I haven't eaten a pie since... hmmm... it must have been Thanksgiving.
Thank you for allowing my self-effacing, self-aggrandizing rant. Story of my life. Now back to grading papers.

Dude, what's to decide?
Well most importantly, if I can live away from you for a whole month. The more I consider that heinous proposition, the more I think, wow, this is unhealthy.
JK. Lots to decide. I don't know. I'm going to explode.
CHINA FOR A MONTH AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. CHINA FOR A MONTH AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. CHINA FOR A MONTH AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. CHINA FOR A MONTH AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. CHINA FOR A MONTH AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. CHINA FOR A MONTH AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR IT.
I mean, he-LLO!
Were I able to perform this curious "math" task, I would go in your place.
As someone who had to face a similar decision not too long ago, I can empathize with your position.
Then again, this is China for a month, and my decision was Korea for a year.
But still, I can say with confidence that from a life-experience view point...It's a month. Do it.
