probably let 'em ring through to voice mail

Grading undergrad papers again this weekend. My favorite revelation is that, during the Red Summer of 1919, African-Americans responded to mob violence by asking the authorities to intervene...

But the police refused to answer their 911 calls.

That's outrageous.
I guess people had to resort to e-mail. Or their blackberries.

At least the FBI didn't take the further step of removing them from their buddy list.

I wonder how many Friendsters the FBI had at that time... Do you think the African Americans were in the 2nd degree of separation...

Wait, was Friendster segregated back then?

Shoot. Any help?

Yes, Friendster was segregated, although that wasn't enough for the real crazies, who used Klanster. But shoot, that's better than in the antebellum period, when people used Slavester and Master.

And so this segregation have led to the development of MYSPACE.com. You know, MY SECTION OF THE BUS. MY DINER. MY LONG ISLAND.
