Anyone familar with David Nye? These books look like they'd be pretty fascinating.

So you ARE considering the dark side. First history of technology, then history of sciences, then you get sucked into science studies and realize, koan-like, that you can't really talk about "technology" and "science" separately in a meaningful way... in the forest... with one hand clapping... while a tree falls on a cyborg you...

I must say, though, that I do like R.B. quite a bit. I'm happy you know him too. I started with Trout Fishing in America. You've inspired me. I'm going to post the first chapter of it on our blog.
