dispatches from the (edge of the) right coast
David Horowitz promises to post a series of reports over the next couple of weeks on the just-completed Restoration Weekend in lovely Boca Raton, Florida. The big guns of a certain kind of conservatism were scheduled to be on hand at the event, including Victor Davis "Mexifornia" Hanson, Michelle "In Defense of Internment" Malkin, and Ben "Look Out For the Brown People" Tillman* -- a sort of council of conservative citizens, if you will. Fans will want to check in regularly to follow the hilarity.(*not really!)

Wow! The Horowitz link is a real doozy. Of course he has the usual declarations that Kerry "slandered and defamed" POWs, that he is a "traitor", and that the "left-wing media" is trying to defeat the US in the war on terror (since reporters like to be attacked?). But he also talks about a Medal of Honor winner (Jack Jacobs) who was at the event. Unfortunately, Horowitz's tale includes many factual errors. He says Jacobs carried 22 people to safety. In reality he saved 14 people but, for some reason, Horowitz doesn't think that's enough. He wrote, "Every life he saved was a Vietnamese". Actually, one of them was another American advisor. I guess facts just make him itch or something. He then tries to make it seem that the honorable actions of these soldiers who were just "fighting to protect themselves and their families" were being undercut by Kerry who "worked so hard to accomplish" the Communist victory. Of course, that battle happened years before Kerry's protests, coincidentally the same month as My Lai (which Horowitz denies every happened).
Jacobs is a true hero whose exploits were amazing but that's not enough for Horowitz. He has to change the story to a lie to further defame John Kerry and the Democrats.
